Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a condition of relative increased eye pressure.

The increased pressure causes damage to the optic nerve at the back of the eye. There is progressive loss of vision, which starts from the peripheral edge of the visual field. When the disease is more severe, the central vision begins to get affected. The higher the eye pressure, the more rapidly vision is lost. It is often symptomatic but patients may also complain of headaches, blurring of vision, glares, halos and eye pain.
